Volunteer ID Cards

DFES have been rolling out Volunteer ID Cards to members of brigades in these regions for some time:

  • Metro North Coastal
  • Metro North East
  • Metro South Coastal
  • Metro South East
  • Goldfields
  • Great Southern
  • Lower South West
  • South West
  • SWORD

We’ve recently become aware that some brigades haven’t had ID cards issued to all of their members. If you’re in one of those areas and don’t yet have your card, please speak to your brigade leadership team.

Brigades – you should have received a letter from DFES with instructions on how to upload the photos for the cards to the Volunteer Portal. If you didn’t get the letter or need more information, please select the “Volunteer ID Cards” link in the navigation bar down the left hand side of the Volunteer Portal. Alternatively, contact us via email and we’ll put you in touch with the right people within DFES who can help.

During regular volunteering and also emergency situations, a volunteer ID card identifies you as a member of the VFES. It was one of the recommendations from the Ferguson Inquiry that volunteers be issued with identification and DFES acted quickly to start the process. It’s important that brigades work with DFES to make sure all their members have a Volunteer ID card.
