Yesterday all the volunteer associations were invited to a briefing on the 2018 Australasian Police and Emergency Services Games to be held in Mandurah at the end of October this year.
A lot of work has already gone into the planning by WA Police and DFES.
115 agencies in Australia, New Zealand and other countries in the region and up to 500,000 paid and volunteer members are eligible to register. The games will have over 50 events over the span of a week, from the 28th October to 3rd November.
The games aren’t just for athletes, there’s a big push for the social inclusion aspect as well. There’s an activity or sport for everyone.
We’d really like to encourage people to put teams together and register. The organisers are expecting over 1,500 registrations just from WA with over 1,000 from other states and another 500 from overseas. It’s a great opportunity to engage in friendly competition and camaraderie with others in the law enforcement and emergency services area.
We’ll provide regular updates as they come through from the games organisers but in the meantime, check out their website for all the latest information.
