Duke of Edinburgh Award

The Duke of Edinburgh Award is an internationally recognised youth achievement award operating in over 140 countries and involving over 8 million young people between the ages of 14 and 24.

DFES is now an Award Unit and are offering a number of registration sponsored places for juniors / cadets aged 14 and up. The requirements are that the person is actively involved in emergency services volunteering and a registered junior or cadet member of a volunteer brigade, group or unit in Western Australia.

Juniors / Cadets who take part in the Award choose and complete a skill, improve their physical well-being, volunteer in their community and go on an adventure. Juniors / Cadets participating in the Award may use their time in emergency services to meet the requirements of Physical Recreation, Skill and/or Service.
