DFES Rewards and Recognition Program now available online

Volunteer Fire and Emergency Services MedalDFES’ new Reward and Recognition Program is now available online via the Volunteer Portal.

The online system is:

  • more accessible – meaning you can apply for long service medals and National Medals, and nominate colleagues for Australian Honours and internal awards anywhere at any time; and
  • simple to use – providing you with a faster, streamlined process so you can directly apply and nominate others online.

We all know that the outstanding dedication of fire and emergency services volunteers deserves recognition. The new online system now makes it easier for you to acknowledge your peers who act as role models, make a difference and strive to achieve their best – so we urge you to get busy nominating.

This is only the first step in making the Rewards and Recognition process more user friendly. By this time next year the system will prompt you to apply for medals you are eligible for and will track the progress of all your applications and nominations for you.

Soon you will also be able to apply for similar awards such as long service medals and National Medals at the same time, with the simple click of a button. Stay tuned for more details.
